About the book
“Listen my children And you will be told About a tradition Of purple, green, and gold…” “Sean Gautreaux and I have been collaborating since he illustrated my second book, Happy Jazz Fest. We were at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, for the release of that book, when Sean told me his dream of illustrating a children’s Mardi Gras book someday. That night, I went home and wrote the poem, which became the basis for this book. Shortly after writing the poem, Sean and I went from book signing to book signing, and at each signing people would ask, ‘Do you have plans to do a Mardi Gras book?’ This is the fifth book Sean and I have worked on together.” About the Author
Cornell P. Landry graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans with a degree in Business Administration. He works in the Television and Film Industry and resides in Greater New Orleans with his wife, Christen, and two beautiful daughters, Bailey and Corinne. They prompted him to create this little gem of a book about the city he adores. Louis J. Schmitt is a professional designer and artist who lives in Greater New Orleans with his wife, Kay, and two fabulous daughters, Marissa and Rachel. They are his inspiration for creativity.
